Your Feet are your Foundation….

Do you have foot pain, plantar fasciitis, hammertoes, neuropathy, balance issues, repetitive ankle sprain strain injuries, bunions, Runner’s feet, poor circulation to the feet, diabetes, or issues with walking or standing?

Do you have issues further up the body such as tight hamstrings, chronic back or hip issues, sciatica, knee pain, hernias, or Pelvic Floor Disorder to name a few?  If you have weak spots and pain showing up in your body, your foot foundation likely needs some attention.

Your feet and ankles are the foundation of the body, just like a foundation is the supportive structure a house is built on. If your house foundation has issues, walls may start cracking, floors may sag, doors won’t close, pipes can burst and repairs can be pricey. We all know that just fixing the crack in the wall won’t solve the problem. You have to go to the foundation and FIX THAT for everything else to structurally be sound. So you can’t fix your hips until you fix your feet!

~Jessica will teach you how to MOBILIZE and STRENGTHEN your feet, ankles, legs and IMPROVE circulation and nerve health

~Learn how to PREVENT future foot and ankle problems and begin to CORRECT some of your current foot challenges.

~You will learn super simple biomechanical principles to ALIGN YOUR BODY WHEN STANDING AND WALKING.

~Learn some simple SELF-MASSAGE techniques USING MASSAGE BALLS AND YOUR HANDS to help release fascial tension and get into those tight areas in the feet.

~We’ll incorporate BREATHING TECHNIQUES and grounding to help you feel more safe and secure in your body.

~You’ll walk away with knowledge about shoes and what shoes you should put on YOUR FEET. Much of what’s marketed by shoe companies and salespeople isn’t necessarily true. And NO…WEARING MINIMAL SHOES IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.

~Class includes a FREE HALF DOME for the first 10 people that register! We use this prop for many of our foundational exercises. ($10 value)

Jessica’s Foot Story

In my late 20’s I started having issues with pain in my left arch and my right knee when I ran.  I also noticed my feet starting to get what looked like bunions. I had to wear a knee brace when I ran and thick “supportive” shoes because my feet were so sensitive that just plain walking hurt. I thought that my thick shoes would fix my problem…but they didn’t…neither did yoga or foot inserts or chiropractic or anything I tried. I just learned to live with foot pain.

It wasn’t until my late 30’s that I discovered Restorative Exercise and the tools I needed to fix my own dang feet. I learned how to stretch and strengthen my toes and feet, started making better movement choices, changed the shoes I was wearing, and my feet are in better shape now in my 40’s than they were in my 20’s. I have no BUNIONS. My feet don’t hurt. I have space between my toes instead of them being all scrunched together.  I have better stability and strength in my entire body. I prefer minimal shoes now…in fact my feet much prefer to be barefoot, thank you very much.
