About Jessica Sheaffer

Since I was a young girl, I’ve felt a powerful loving force around and within me.  I can remember as far back as a 5 year old, feeling drawn to put my hands on my peers and family when they were hurting. In my late teens and early 20’s, I started practicing yoga and reading books about energy medicine and spirituality. As a college student, I lost interest in the academic realm.  My heart and soul were yearning for more depth and dimension and learning more about the mysteries of life. Most of all, I just felt I needed to get my hands on people. Massage school felt like a good place to start.  After two years of college, I decided to follow my heart and began my journey as a professional bodywork therapist.

I’ll never forget how skeptical I was when I discovered Bowen in 2001. How could something so innocous and gentle be so profound? Yet, it was the perfect match. I really wanted to find a therapeutic medium to practice that actually gave my clients results! Digging into people’s backs with my elbows felt superfluous once introducing my clients to Bowen.  My patients reported having significant life changing benefits after just a couple of Bowen sessions. I couldn’t ignore the potential with this work and quit doing massage in 2003 to specialize in Bowen. I built a thriving Bowenwork practice in Seattle, Washington but needed the warmth and sunshine and moved to Texas in 2008.

I’ve been on a continued quest for understanding the human body and it’s potential.  I’ve studied with a wide range of healers and teachers from all over the globe ranging from mysticism and yoga to biomechanics. Having this background and spectrum of experience is something unique that I bring to my practice. I’ve been able to create a therapeutic setting that offers healing on both the physical and energetic realm allowing my clients to feel nurtured and cared for at a soul level. It’s been a blessing to be that source of love and acknowledgement in my client’s lives.

I’m thankful to call Austin my home. I love my neighborhood and old fixer upper house. I love to travel, especially anywhere near the ocean. I’m most thankful for my two young kids who amaze me everyday.
